What Nomi Network does
Nomi Network is a US nonprofit that works to prevent human trafficking and help survivors rebuild by creating pathways to safe, stable jobs. Co-founded in 2009 by Diana Mao and Supei Liu and now based in Dallas, it runs programs in India and Cambodia and, in the United States, in Dallas–Fort Worth and Houston.
Its core idea is that economic security reduces vulnerability to exploitation. Abroad, its Workforce Development Program serves women 18 and older who are survivors of trafficking or at risk, combining life skills, financial literacy, technical job skills, job placement and ongoing mentorship. In India, an Adolescent Girls Empowerment Program works with girls aged 12 to 17 on life skills, financial literacy, rights education and case management. In Texas, it pairs trauma-informed case management with job-readiness training, career placement and retention coaching, and trains employers to create safer workplaces.
Nomi Network reports serving 23,710 women and girls directly since 2009 and placing 832 women in employment or self-employment in 2024. It holds a Four-Star rating from Charity Navigator and publishes annual reports going back to 2019. Its annual budget is about $5 million, according to its most recent IRS filing.
